IPL 2017 Match 4 Result : Glenn Maxwell shines as Punjab beat Pune by 6 wickets

Indore, April 8: Glenn Maxwell smashed 44 off 20 balls as Kings XI Punjab defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by six wickets in their Indian Premier League opener here today (April 8).
Kings XI made short work of the 164-run target as Maxwell and David Miller (30 n.o off 27 balls) took them home with an over to spare.
Maxwell’s fireworks came after Ben Stokes led Rising Pune Supergiant’s recovery with a blistering 50 off 332 balls, helping his team post 163 for six.

With the win, Kings XI have begun the competition on a promising note after finishing at the bottom in the previous two editions. It was the first loss this season for Pune, who had beaten Mumbai India in their tournament opener on Thursday.

Michael Bevan Keen to work with Kings XI Punjab

New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) coach Michael Bevan said he is excited with the players bought from the Indian Premier League auction and the team now looks strong in all departments of the game.

“I am very happy with the way the KXIP management was able to put into action the strategic plan that we had drawn to buy players for the upcoming season. The team has shaped up with a right mix of batsmen, bowlers and all rounders,” said the former Australian player.
